Holiday Health Matters

Holidays can feel hard when you are spending them by yourself. As an immigrant, I’ve spent holidays by myself, and I’ve learned a few ways to make the season gentler and more meaningful.

🌟 Plan – Get creative! Organize a small gathering (in-person or virtual) with others who may be on their own too. Or take yourself on a long hike, try a new hobby, or simply commit to doing something that brings you joy.
💙 Permit – Give yourself space to grieve or reflect. Setting aside time for your emotions honors them without letting them take over your whole day.
💆🏽‍♀️ Pamper – Treat yourself! Whether it’s indulging in your favorite candy, soaking in a candle-lit bubble bath, or curling up with a good book and a glass of wine, let yourself enjoy the little luxuries.

Bottom line: Holidays don’t have to follow tradition. They can be whatever you choose—and when you define what you want, you Find the FREEDOM to be YOU!
